Dealing with pimples can be a real nightmare. Acne effects 85% of Australians
aged 15 – 24. It doesn't seem to matter where you live or what your age is you
could get find yourself with acne, but don't freak out because all types of

Acne occurs when oil glands, or pores, become blocked. Inside this blocked pore
bacteria grows and causes a red, raised spot called a pimple. The face, chest,

Men and adolescent boys are more likely to get acne in response to the bodies
production of male hormones but it normally settles down in their early 20's.
For girls it is common to get acne around the time of their periods and that can
happen until their late 30s or 40s. A family history of acne it can increase
your chance of getting acne.

It is important to realise that there is no quick fix with pimples. It can take
weeks to a few months for pimples to get under control. Acne can be more than
just on the surface of the skin, it is often linked to depression, stress and
anxiety. Studies have shown that the more stressed you get, the more likely it
is for acne to flare up.
