In less than two years Kirsty has gone from winning a StarMaker to walking away
with a Golden Guitar. In 2007 Kirsty won the prestigious Toyota
Star Maker of the year. The Star Maker contest has long been established as a
starting platform for a number of Australias biggest country music stars like
Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan and Beccy Cole.
Also at just 19 years of age Kirsty
was named as a finalist in both the Best New Talent and Female Vocalist of the
Year categories at the 36th Country Music Awards. Shortly afterwards Kirsty won Best New
Talent and her first Golden Guitar.
Her debut album Little Things was released in August 2007 and the title track of
the album quickly rose up the Country Music Charts. Kirsty is currently working
on her second album, which is scheduled for release in January 2009 at the
Tamworth Country Music Festival. It is expected that the release will be
followed by a tour with fellow musician Rob Black in late February or early March
of next year.
