The Lime Grove is the biggest lime business in Australia. This business was
the inspirational concept of owner Susie Collett, who came about idea when she
noticed a niche in the Australian rural sector. This overlooked fruit was the
lime, and Susie decided she was going to squeeze into the industry. 20 years
later her business idea has flourished and the Lime Grove is now the biggest
lime orchard in Australia with 10,000 lime trees.

Susie took time to choose the site for her lime growing business and after
researching the conditions needed to grow lime trees, she decided on a small town
in the Macquarie Valley, Narromine. Its good underground water supply, lack of
pests, established citrus environment and the long hot dry days made it the
perfect location.
Susie delivered her first commercial crop of limes, around 15 tonnes, to the
Sydney markets in 1991. These days the Lime Grove pre sells around 200 tonnes of
lime direct to the consumer each year. Susie has also diversified her business
and has developed a Lime Grove product range, which is sold in delis around
Australia. She utilizes the limes not sold, by making them into delicious Lime
Grove products such as conserves, oils, cordials and marinades.
These products are also available at the new Lime Grove Café, which serves
mouth-watering lime inspired meals and drinks. The Lime Grove is located in
Narromine, on the Macquarie River in Western NSW. It is open seven days a week
to visitors who wish to take a tour around the amazing Aussie orchard.
