You might recognise Amber from her appearances on Australian TV shows like
"
Sunrise", "
The Morning Show" and "
Mornings with Kerri Anne", or from when she
became a roaming reporter for the 2008 Golden Guitars in Tamworth and hosted the
Independent Country Music Awards.
The success of this country music star came only after a lot of hard work and
big changes. Her first EP "I've Got the Blues" was independently self-funded and
promoted. It reached number four on the Country Music Charts and stayed there
for several weeks. This success gave Amber the confidence to embark on a
full-time country music career. She left her position as an accountant for
Qantas and put all her energy into writing and performing.
Now all Amber's hard work is adding up and this singer is certainly set to
become one of Australia's next biggest country music sensations. Amber's warm
and melodic songs have won her a large fan following. This was highlighted when
she received the 2007 Independent Artist of the Year and the Female Vocalist of
the Year at the National Southern Star Independent Country Music Awards. Amber
was also nominated for two Golden Guitar awards in 2008, for "Female Artist of
the Year" and "New Talent of the Year".
Amber is a very talented individual. What's more - she has a big heart. The
stunning singer has taken the time to visit and play for the Australian troops
stationed in East Timor. Amber is passionate about more than just superficial
things - many of her songs feature lyrics are about the tender and poignant
moments in life. Her title track "The Mile" was written about the loss of
someone you love. It is dedicated to the family and friends of a 16-year old boy
who was killed in a tragic racing accident. Amber is currently writing new songs
for her second album, which is to be released in 2009.
